I saw some debates about the difference between Chopin's and Schumann's music. Chopin didn't consider Schumann's carnaval op.9 "music" at all. He found them annoying and distracting even though Schumann named one of the pieces in the series "Chopin". I think Schumann's music is romantic. What about Chopin's?

I'm not sure. I thought Chopin's music is the most essential of romantic music. The thing with Schumann is just different perspective of music. Chopin followed Mozart while Schumann didn't.

Schubert is also famous in the dance form, e.g. the Schubertian valse de salon, even though his waltzes are not as famous as Chopin's. But we're talking about Schumann here in this topic, not Schubert, right?

Oh x.x!
I didnt read it ohh sorry, i have to do a new topic xDD
well anyway---
and between shumann and chopin, hmm... it is very hard--- cuz i love Schumann pieces
But, chopin, is better, cuz the change that chopin does in his pieces, in soft to loud, and in slow to rapid is better for me...

Like Chopin nocturnes, and especially in "nocturne in c minor"...
I love it x.x!

I think that their music is totally different! I personally do not like Schumann (or most of the other German composers for that matter), as I find that his music just doesn't have that kind of human authenticity that Chopin's does. For me, it does not seem to express emotions nearly as much or as well as the music of my favorite composers (Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Faure, Medtner, etc.), and I find little ingenuity or personality in his music. I think Chopin's music is easily superior, no contest.

Well, Schumann's music is truly romantic music, not Chopin's. Wink Chopin somehow stayed with the traditional classical style with improvisation in form and texture. Lips sealed I personally love some of Schumann's work but there are a lot that I couldn't understand. Huh

That's true. Even though my website is about Chopin, I like Mozart's music very much.
