I'm a new member, one of my absolute favourite composers since childhood is Chopin.
To the question:
I've painted a copy of the portrait of Chopin made in 1838 by his friend Eugene Delacroix, It hangs above my piano, it's very expressive(and inspiring). The original painting is in The Louvre but I haven't seen it yet.
My question is - do you know how many portraits there are of Chopin (I know there is one photo) and have you seen any of the originals where they hang in different museums?

I did a little search and found this library.

www.lebrecht.co.uk/lebrecht/bin/lmc.dll/go?a=disp&pt=1&t=us\sr-loader-m.html&si=&lg=0&ls=0&so=0&rewrite=1&search=Chopin

You can find there a lot of Chopin portraits throughout his life. I don't particularly like the one by Delacroix though.

Hope this helps.

That portrait was painted in the 1840s. I think Chopin's health made his apperance really worse. I don't like his real photo either.
